Local Outreach

College Outreach

Those serving on the College Outreach team travel to nearby colleges to share the gospel, provide information about our church, and have open conversations with students who may have questions about Christianity.

The goal is for students to have an understanding of their need for a Savior. The team gathers in the center quad or free speech areas of colleges and uses student surveys and other resources to approach and start conversations with those on campus.

Those with a burdened heart for college students who are searching for answers are highly encouraged to join this group. A current ministry application is needed for this ministry.

Our Mosque Outreach is geared toward reaching those of the Muslim faith. The overseer was a missionary for many years in the Islamic country of Morocco where he learned how to lovingly share the gospel with this people group.

This outreach takes place approximately 1:00-3:00 pm. A team of volunteers will go to various Mosques and converse with the Muslim people about their faith.

If you are interested in being a part of this ministry, you must complete a ministry application. Once approved, you will be contacted with more details by the overseer.

Prison Ministry

Volunteers in this ministry take Matthew 25:35 – 40 to heart by going into prisons to minister and share the good news of the gospel. Countless incarcerated men and women feel lost, angry, abandoned, and hopeless because of their situation and the consequences they face. This ministry strives to convey the unconditional love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ to these men and women with hope that they become loving and productive members of their communities.

The Facilities
Each prison facility has several requirements, and each participant is informed of the procedures specific to the facility at which they apply. Once a volunteer is granted clearance to enter a particular prison, there is a high level of commitment expected from that individual to meet a consistent visitation schedule. Calvary Chapel Chino Valley’s teams make it a priority to maintain a reputation of reliability to assure those who are incarcerated and the prison’s staff members that the group is trustworthy.

The Calvary Chapel Chino Valley Prison Ministry serves in prisons such as Calipatria State Prison, California Correctional Institution, SAFT – Corcoran, Chuckawalla Valley State Prison, Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility, and California State Prison – LAC.

Expectations:
  • Hours of time carpooling to and from Prison Facilities.
  • Flexibility in changing circumstances.
  • Prison Orientation and Training (provided).
  • Background Check/Live Scans.
  • Yearly TB test.
  • California Driver’s License/ID.
  • Volunteer’s criminal record details (if any).

Classes
CCCV Prison Ministry also provides classes for both men and women who have been previously incarcerated. Iron Sharpens Iron (for Men) and Women’s Anchored meet on campus every 2nd and 4th Friday at 7pm. Our ministry comes alongside these men and women to help them better transition back into society, their family, and the workforce as believers. Those affected by a loved one who is or has been incarcerated are welcome to also join these classes.

If you are interested in being a part of the Prison Ministry or have any questions relating to the Prison Ministry, please contact marleem@calvaryccv.org. Be sure to fill out a Ministry Application if you do not have one on file already.
